CHCSS00070 Assist clients with medication

This skill set focuses on providing support to a person self administering medication.

Prerequisite – Students must hold Certificate III or higher qualification in an area providing direct client care and support and either have access to a workplace that assists clients with medication, overseen by an Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse or ATSI Health practitioner, or be willing to complete work placement. 

Skill set outline: This skill set contains 2 units of competency.

Enrolment duration: 4 weeks.

Funding – Funding is available under the Higher Level Skills program (Queensland enrolments only). Eligibility criteria applies, see the Higher Level skills section of this website for more information on eligibility. Students applying for funding must be new or existing works in the Community Services or Health sectors.

Costs:

  • Unfunded cost – $330 per person*
  • Funded cost (Higher Level Skills) – $50 non concession / $40 concession per person.*

This skill set provides an introduction to the skills needed to meet the leisure and recreation needs of clients.

Skill set outline: This skill Set contains 3 units of competency and a mandatory 120 hour work placement
