Career Boost program

What is the Career Boost program?

The Career Boost program helps Queenslanders to level up at work, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new roles. the program delivers training to develop higher level skills needed to secure employment, advance their career, or progress to further education and training.

Students can enroll into:

  • 1 general training pathway Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma’s; or
  • 1 Certificate IV or higher level Traineeship or apprenticeship.

And up to 2 funded skill sets.

Students who have completed 2 traineeships / apprenticeships through school-based training or the Career Start program in the last 10 years are not eligible to complete a traineeship or apprenticeship under Career Boost funding.

Students can not complete 2 general training pathways qualifications under Career Boost.

What courses are available under the Career Boost program?

HANMAC has been approved to offer the following qualifications under the Higher Level Skills program:

  • CHC42021 Certificate IV in Community Services.
  • CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support.
  • CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability.
  • CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure and Health.
  • CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services.
Am I eligible for Career Boost?

To be eligible, participants must:

  • Be over the age of 15 and no longer at school;
  • Permanently reside in Queensland;
  • Be an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident, or a temporary resident on an eligible visa subclass holding correct work permits and on a pathway to permanent residency;
  • Not hold a Certificate IV or Higher qualification (including tertiary qualifications) completed in the last 10 years* (qualifications completed as a school student, and foundation skills qualifications do not count towards eligibility);
  • Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count towards eligibility).

* 10 year qualification criteria does not apply to Skill Set eligibility.

How is training delivered?

Do I have to pay fees under the Career Boost program?

Students are required to pay a student contribution fee under the Career Boost program. Information on fees and charges can be found on the relevant qualification’s page of this website.
