CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of settings who provide person centred support to people with disabilities in a manner that achieves independence, self-reliance, wellbeing and community participation. Workers in this role will be required to work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Qualification information
To successfully complete this qualification students must complete 10 units of competency:
Core units
- CHCCCS044 Follow established person-centred behaviour support.
- CHCDIS017 Facilitate community participation and social inclusion.
- CHCDIS018 Facilitate ongoing skills development using a person-centred approach.
- CHCDIS019 Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs.
- CHCLEG003 Manage legal and ethical compliance.
- CHCMHS001 Work with people with mental health issues.
- HLTWHS003 Maintain work health and safety.
Elective units
- CHCAGE011 Provide support to people living with dementia.
- CHCCCS036 Support relationships with carers and families.
- CHCDIS015Develop and provide person-centred service responses.
Entry requirements
Completion of:
- CHC33021 Certificate III in individual Support (Disability), or
- CHC33015 certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or
- CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability and CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support skill set.
Course requirements and recommendations
Requirements:
Students must hold or be able to apply for the following:
- National police check (must cover working with vulnerable people).
- Working with children blue card.
- NDIS workers screening check.
Students must be able to:
- Comprehend and communication in English.
- Complete assessments in English.
- complete manual tasks including bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching.
Highly recommended:
It is highly recommended that students have or get the following:
- Current influenza vaccination
- COVID-19 vaccination

Enrolling students must be existing workers in the Disability sector, which includes parents and unpaid carers of NDIS participants, and hold the Certificate III in Individual Support or its superseded qualification to access funding for this qualification.
